Designing more for solid, Australian opal !!

When creating design for an opal, 

you don't need to add too much of other gems 

and heavy details ... I believe it's better for an opal to 

be designed simple and get the right angle.

That's most important.

Australian black opal, boulder opal does not 

come around easy so respect an opal and 

design something really nice.

(such as white opal, welo opal, mexico opal, etc ...) 

the whole outcome will be completely different 

and it may not be as bright as this.

Anyway, life is beautiful & should be colorful just like Australian top opals.

natural form, weights over 10Kg, 

filled with bright blue / green colors.

Usually colorful opal does not come in this large size!

And if there's one to be found, many would consider 

getting it cut & polish it straight.

Making more $$$ by breaking down into small pieces 

and sold each to the retailer ...  

However, our buyer specifically asked us to find a 

top quality (like this one!) Australian boulder opal in a large, original form, with lots of colors and full energy !!

Thank GOD, can you imagine how much effort 

it took us to carry this beautiful boulder specimen from Australia to Japan by an airplane?

The world's best market place for buyers and sellers of

My first time visit to this MEGA EVENT

has certainly paid off ...

The "Gem Show" was much more than

a single event at one location.

Rather, there were thousands of participants

and attendees at more than 40 sites around town.

 

Dozens of shows took place at the same time -

in giant white tents, at hotels

and resorts and at exhibit halls.

There was something for everyone

at the many open-to-the-public shows ...

 

from gemstones, gold and diamonds to

granite bookends and glass beads,

and from fine specimens of dinosaur

fossilsto opals dug from the

Australian Outback.

This show invited thousands of treasure hunters

from every corner of the globe and was

open to the public.

 

There were displays from renowned museums

and private collections along with over 250 mineral,

gemstone, jewelry and fossil retail dealers.

It also featured free lectures and seminars,

and a Junior Education Area.

Just an AMAZING SHOW it was ...

Australian exhibitors were having good time

& willing to do more next year ... I am intending to return and help more friends in year 2015 !!! (^^)
