OPAL EVENT in SAPPORO !!

Well, I just returned from Sapporo where the 

" watch & jewelry show " was held for 4 days last week in Grand Hotel New Oji.

And to stand out a bit in the crowd (haha), I decided to wear LAO traditional dress during the event this time.

Color's bright and silky, looks like opal colors right ?!?   ^^

Our displays is always simple ...
As you can see, all opal is nicely placed in the loose case and individually protected by the glass top.

Easy to care and see the prices, super 'clean' so that our customers can view and examine the quality of opal in a second. 

Here's BEFORE vs AFTER ... very professional !

The preparations in the hotel function room normally takes about 3 ~ 5 hours and then ready to invite all 'gem & jewelry lovers' the next day.


The show went really well, another great jewelry event we had in Sapporo with friends and associates, we will be back again for sure early next year !!

The miner is struggling to find any new, 

bright opals with dark body tone in opal mine.

Very icy blue opal

It's been extremely HOT last couple of days here in Australia...

The population is always "?", this isolated area is the only known place on earth where world-famous fine quality Black Opal is found.

 

 

In recent years, Black Opal is getting rarer and rarer, therefore opals from Lightning Ridge sold for record prices sometimes at more per carat than good quality diamond.

 

 

 

 

 

Australia now produces around 95 per cent of the world's opal supply, however, only less than 5 per cent of them would be considered as a black opal.

Lightning Ridge, here we go again!!

 

Well, well, well ...

 

Here we are again, at Lightning Ridge with our experienced opal miner "MR. KEN WESTBROOK" !!! Look at his smiling face, must be happy to see us (MAYU next to him) at his PUB - The Sheepyard Pub.

 

 

 

Well, opal miners love to drink day & night, but also love to find opal all day long... When they are not at the pub or on the ground, they're always UNDERGROUND, digging non-stop!!!
